WITS CONTEST INFO:Ok so this idea was taken from how `touchedvenus handles her contests. And I want to give it a try to hold my very own contest. If it goes well I'll hold another

CONTEST RULES AND DETAILS:
-To submit an entry, send me a link via Note (preferred) or comment just be sure to mention somewhere it's meant for the contest.
-IT CAN BE ANY FORM WRITING, DRAWING, CRAFTS, PHOTOS, ANYTHING! just be sure to follow the rules X3.
-The contest entry must have at least one of my OCs from any of my comics (other characters could be in there too though I'll be judging based on depiction of my OCs). Links to their references will be listed at bottom.
-You may change their clothing and hair style (as in put hair in pony tail when it isn't usually, or let it flow when it's usually tied up, or change hair length to a certain extent, though don't change the type of hair too much for example Nekora's hair is stubbornly curly so it would be near impossible for her to straigten, etc) I don't expect you to perfectly know what their personalities are like, but please don't alter their physical traits too much-keep it "believably" them ... after all I need to recognize them!
-It is a THEMED contest. please be sure to see what the theme is, though I'm pretty flexible with interpretations (most themes will have at least 2 words so you can use one or the other or both depending whatever you come up with
-I appreciate participation in general so all participants will get at least a doodle (even those who submit their entry past deadline).

DEADLINE: It will be set once there are at least 5 entries received . I will then try to set a fair deadline for those who would have just joined or something.
THEME: "Love spring" I leave it up to you to interpret these words (creative interpretations are all good to me!)
(If I all goes well the second contest one will be themed "Alternate Universe"I hope this contest will go well! )
JUDGING: I am one judge but there will be five others a few on DA but mostly outside. They remain anonymous so that there are no troubles. It my way to have it as unbiased as I can so that anyone can join. When results are in I'll ask to put up quotes of each judge's opinion so that contestants get feedback.
Judging will be based on incorporation of the theme, creativity and well the rules listed above. There is a bit on execution but since I want to make it fair to all skill levels as well it is not about how well you draw but rather on how well you thought it out.

- a minor point, I am oblivious to Touched Venus' (or anyone's) contest types (never did one) so I have no idea what this sentence means --> "prize donations means that you get to chose ummm "donator's favourite" to whom to bestow your prize to X3"

The general gist of a contest on DA is that you do a deviation according to the contest theme/rules , submit it to DA and send a link to the contest holder. and then winners are picked either by a panel of judges (my case at the moment) or by votes from fellow deviants. Winners get whatever prize is given out.
Well I'll be honest and say that my contest is not the most glamorous (especially since it's my first and I've not got money prizes to be given out). but I'll use it as a more clarifying example.
In mine essentially you need to draw at least one of my characters in a picture with the theme "love spring" (to which I give you freedom of interpretation of theme). that drawing once submitted to DA (or anywhere really as long as I can see it) is entered. once the deadline is hit (which I will set once I get 5 entries) then the winner(s) (best fit to the theme and rules) get whatever prize I can give.
In my contest the best entry gets a full colour drawing from me and a Journal Feature for at least a month (and I'll put the icon in the bottom of every journal from now on). The second prize gets a lineart and a journal feature.
(though prizes could be added later depending on if someone wanted to donate or if I get many entries then out of thanks I will increase the possible winnings!)
As a bonus, in the introduction of my contest I'll do a sketch for anyone who did an entry (so it's like everyone got a prize of some sort
Now different contests are run differently and what you have to do for them, how they determine the winner and what you can win can change but yes the jist of it is doing something that follows the assigned guidelines XP
It helps when you've seen other contest announcements and entries into each contest...
