How's life?

At this point, you are ever so slightly curious at why I picked that title and more particularly who I’m referring to. Well I’m not telling! Well not in this section.

But from world domination to world recognition, here is a little add of sorts. ~Router-Jax just finished the first chapter his visual novel. What it a visual novel? Well I hadn’t a clue what it was either until he got inspired to do it… It’s like a story told with illustrated text. In this case there is some animation and all sorts of bells and whistles (like music) to enhance the story telling process.

The best way to understand what it’s about is to try it out (explore it) for yourself (download from links in the artist comments): [link] . What immediately drew my attention was that this was a way to tell a story with pretty pictures, show-casing your art (as ~Router-Jax did) without worrying overly much about style inconsistency, … And I’ll admit that it was fun. Especially seeing as along the way you could choose options that will change what comes next, like a game. And well I liked the interactive aspect very much.

It was really pretty ingenuous and well I started feeling like I wanted to do the same if not something similar for Written in the Stars. Though I realized that there was an “enormous” amount of coding involved (I consider any amount of coding as an enormous amount)… and thus shied away from the idea. I suppose I was too chicken hearted. One day I should invest in learning a bit… After all we are of the age of the computer. So it wouldn’t hurt to acquire some skills.

More along the lines of inspiring things, not too long ago (well a month ago or so) ~apricot8585’s sister, :icontampopo0118: entered the DA scene with lovely handmade dolls [link] . They were gorgeous! To get the terms straight the dolls are called “Bunka” dolls. I especially liked the style with which they were clothed and well the general look was just too cute! And of course inspired me with a wish to make one of my own, (especially seeing as they are cloth dolls and thus wouldn’t be the death of me because I have this really unfortunate dust allergy). But alas I’m made aware of another one of my short comings… I can’t really sew… Yet another skill I should consider acquiring! But if you are like me, then let us band together in admiration of those who can do all these gorgeous things!

So as to not sink in depression I’ll now focus my mind on the things I do. And from there I’m able to provide you with an update on status:

Huzzah! I get to update this section . Guess what my current mood is? HAPPY

I’ve got myself some art of ARIA ~! It’s one of those gaia commissions (with love ). I’m not someone swimming in gaia lard so I can’t even afford half of the commissions… (or any, most of the time). So I count it a favor or gift to be able to receive any art that way as well.
is just one of the really kind people out there nice enough to humour my request for an OC. And to top it all off she did Aria marvelously by capturing an expression that is very much in character working only from one drawing I did of her!

It really surprised me because well you may have guessed that the drawing I did had her in another “mood”. One of these days I’ll try to get her to draw a group of my OCs interacting with each other because she has a knack for drawing groups but that will be for a day way down the road… (can’t earn that much gaia gold in a flash)

Rambles:
*This is the section to skip because I just have fun rambling about the stupidest things *

After the last installment I’ve been quaking in my boots for what to write… As far are rambles go it was the best that I’ve written (just to let you know these rambles are un-proof-read and kind of one of those one shot things), though that also means that if others are involved in these escapades then I’m likely to insert inside jokes unwittingly.

With that said, if you are one of the rare few that are reading this section of the journal, and have yet to grow an appreciation for mindless gobbledygook then do not suffer through my interminable spouting of nonsense and simply scroll down to leave a comment or if you are not of the type to leave traces of your whereabouts then well you can step back as stealthily as you came and run for your life! (No, I won’t kill you for it XD, just saying that running a little is healthy XD)

Now for the few (if any) that remain, today’s piece was directed and produced by my paranoia. You know it’s really mindless and random and whatever, when… There is a fine line between truth, exaggeration and what’s been totally made up… but then again it’s always been so in my life… So I never grew to properly distinguish imagination and reality. (Oh don’t classify me as insane, though I am a little at times; what I mean to say is that memory plays tricks on me.) On to the show…

The day in question was sunny, with clouds scattered sparsely in the blue painted ceiling of the world, otherwise known as the sky. Much like those days in children shows when nothing is amiss. How deceived I was! In a room constantly suffering from an identity crisis, not knowing where in the world it belonged, was to be held a fierce and at the time considered relentless battle between Man and … Insect…

A first army was dispatched, and the first of many war tactics employed. Numbers! An army of flies invaded the nationally confused TV room. Only two were able to defend the vicinity. And o they fought valiantly. The fly air-force was great, totaling 22 for this first ambush. They were the larger kind of aircraft and zoomed quickly around. Often terrorizing the population by doing pretend kamikaze dives. But they were swiftly dealt with with the help of the mighty fly swatter. It was a disastrous result for the flies. They were massacred

But this did not dampen their spirits, the next day they repeated their attacks. this time with a higher number and smaller build for more speed and mobility. This battle had lasted longer, and fear was building up in the human camp. An extra soldier was recruited. 30 flies against 3 humans with only one fly swatter to share between them lead to a longer battle but one that was won by the humans.

The next day yet another attack this time starting earlier in the day and with more flies of even smaller size. The battle had lasted a long time. An dat this point dread of a never ending war seeped in. Had the flies deduced a tactic to infiltrate? Had they developed the skill to magically appear? (when cleaning the area and trying to find their point of entry in a flash they would be found in a place they weren't occupying not more than a second ago) Were we to deal with infestation?

The answer was no... For the next day and subsequent days they were nowhere to be found. We like to think that they realized that they were not up to par for house invasion...

The insects decide to employ another tactic. That of stealth... And what better way to use it to the fullest then to lure the "victims" out of their territory and attack them on unfamiliar grounds. This was a more successful attack. I was unfortunately a victim. No sooner was I out that the mosquito stealth team honed in on me. I spent but 5 minutes outside and came out bitten at least 7 times. And they suffered not one casualty. Trying to avoid the outdoors I find myself trapped. That is not a comforting position to be found in. and even less comfortable now that I itch...

Thus it's looking like a prolonged battle... and while we wait for our strong ally against bugs to come, our dear friend Winter to arrive I find myself in a bit of a quandary... Never fear I still have a few trick up my sleeve, otherwise known as bug repellent!

Well I'm off to sit in my ever increasing paranoia of bugs...
