Sweet Sacrifice

My entry in `touchedvenus 's contest.
The theme is: Sweet Sacrifice by evanescence

Now to fully understand what was going through my head, I've decided to anotate the lyrics and hopefully things may make sense. Though before I do the characters are Sapphirine, a blue haired bounty hunter, and Namir, an escaped feline-girl slave that Sapphirine has just turned in for money. Now night has fallen and Sapphirine is a little guilty for she has sacrificed the girl (to a life of torture) and all for money...

Sweet Sacrifice lyrics: (note that I twists meanings)

It's true, we're all a little insane.
But it's so clear,
Now that I'm unchained.
_{imagine this is Sapphirine "talking" and she is unchained or rather her thoughts are left to rowm free and is now actually able to reflect on what she has done?}

Fear is only in our minds,
Taking over all the time.
Fear is only in our minds but it's taking over all the time.
_{Using this to refer to the fear stemming from the guilt she feels... fear that she has not made the right choice and fear of the consequence of leaving Namir at her masters hands... maybe even death as consequence... though Sapphirine is trying to shake it off and say it's all of her imagining even though she knows well that she had left Namir to get beaten...}

You poor sweet innocent thing.
Dry your eyes and testify.
You know you live to break me. Don't deny.
Sweet sacrifice.
_{Now I use this part as when later at night she starts seeing Namir... in the Mirror and talks to her... Namir looking at her in agony or with imploring if not blaming eyes... Sapphirine thinking that the with her living tortured -probably like others before her- the guilt from that would break the bounty hunter, all these sacrificed people....}

One day I'm gonna forget your name,
_{Sapphirine saying she'd forget Namir's name, possibly like she has forgotten her other bounties...}
And one sweet day, you're gonna drown in my lost pain.
_{This time it's what "Namir" is saying kind of saying that there is noreal escape as Sapphirine will drown in guilt knowing of Namir's torture. pain that Sapphirine may not have felt personnaly...}

_{Sapphirine tries to shake out of it again...}

_{Sapphirine talking to "Namir", admitting that Namir would hate her, that she'd love to hate her for turning her in}
I'm your sacrifice. _{Namir stating that she'd been sacrificed.}

Blacken the day,
A world of nothingness,
Blow me away.)
_{Here would be Sapphirine's emotions... that if they were put to sleep it's to "die" and not appear. Erasing her "life" as in her emotions and soul to some extent... as she becomes essentially like a cold dead to emotion "machine" there to earn money. burning away emotions/guilt would lead to a very black world with nothing in it for her... but at this point guilt is uncomfortable so she sort of asks to be blown away... dead to emotions...}

Do you wonder why you hate?
_{Sapphirine... trying to see it as not her fault, thus the hate should not be at her door and perhaps rather at the masters... asks "Namir" if she ever thought why it would be Sapphirine in particular that she would hate...}
Are you still too weak to survive your mistakes?
_{"Namir" talking but kind of taking the voice of many... maybe of the previous bounties... the people that were sent to be damned (some unfairly)... all by the hands of Sapphirine... Also maybe taking the voice of a teacher, of Sapphirine herself... criticising the emotional weakness and referring to weakness from guilt.}
